Noble Calling @ IIMA Pgpx on a Sunday

With the commencement of the 1 year MBA program at IIMA, I thought it will not be very long when other IIMs also follow suite.

IIM Calcutta is next on the line with a new 1 year program costing around 6-8 lakhs.

A stock list of available 1 year program in India reveals, ISB, IIMA, SPJain, XLRI, GLIM and now IIMC. Most of these targetting people with sufficient work experience. With ISB proving the corporate demand for experienced professionals with a MBA background in India, I believe the whole business education system might go for an overhaul.

We will start to see more experienced people even in the regular 2 Year PGP programs of IIMS.

So will one outwin other. Will 2 Year MBA programs slowly disappear and 1 Year take center stage. Or vice versa or can the both coexist.

I believe both models will coexist and flourish. There is a huge room for growth at multiple corporate levels. India will continue to demand quality analysts and middle/senior managers alike.

On the IIMA front. Pgpx has started rolling with all of us working thru Pre MBA courses. After being out of touch with academics for a long time, my attention span has reduced.

I hope it improves b4 the d-day.

My classes are going to start on Apr 2. Its a Sunday. Vow now thats something to consider. Who on the world will start an Initiative on Sunday. Probably a point being proved there.
